Welcome!

I am a researcher, writer, and science communicator eager to ask (and to answer!) questions about the natural world and our role within it. My dissertation, earned  from Stony Brook University's Interdepartmental Doctoral Program in Anthropological Sciences (IDPAS), explored the roles natural resources play in the livelihoods of rural households in northeastern Madagascar. Broadly, I am interested in nature-based livelihoods, forests as a natural resource, nature-based solutions to socio-ecological challenges, and the many ways animal and human lives interact. Please explore this website to learn more about my research interests and past experiences and to get in touch. Thank you for visiting!
